NEW DELHI: Pragya channel, the Hindi GEC that emphasises on positive lifestyle and specialises in spiritualism, has tied up with one foreign IPTV company. It is also in the process of sending its decoder boxes to another Indian IPTV player and is in the process of tying up with them as well.

Said Pragya content director Pragyan Bhattacharya: "We have signed an agreement with South Asian Family Entertainment Inc, a US-based IPTV company that provides the service across Asia Pacific, Europe and also the US."

Bhattacharya says that the full VoD services would kick off from May first week. Meanwhile, Pragya is finalising the deal with another Indian IPTV service provider which would also be available by first week of May.

Pragya channel will have a revenue sharing arrangement with both the IPTV service providers. While the accruals would be in rupees for the Indian company, the US company would remit in dollars.

The content Pragya is offering the IPTV players, Bhattacharya says, include the crime-based show Ehsaas. The programme is based on the lives of criminals who have not just realised their crimes but have turned to a positive path. It is the only programme which is specially screened in Delhi's high security Tihar jail.

The other shows on VoD would be Healthy Platter, a food programme; Ek Pankh Ki Udaan, a show on handicapped persons making heroic struggles; Ek Aur Ekalavya on persons dedicated to uplifting community lives, and Shrines of India, which showcase shrines of all religions.

Among the talk shows would be Just 4 Women, Beyond Brackets (anchored by Suresh Oberoi), and Spiritual Science.
