ER sells 'Transformers' TV show to 80 territories

MUMBAI: UK global media group specialising in the ownership of children’s and family programming Entertainment Rights (ER), has secured broadcast agreements for the new Transformers animated show plus a 70-minute special episode.

The company has secured broadcast agreements in over 80 territories including Mediaset (Italy), Turner Broadcasting (Australia, Latin America and India), Jetix (Israel, Netherlands and Belgium), Network 10 (Australia), TV3 (New Zealand), Mediacorp TV12 (Singapore), and TV Globo (Brazil).

The show has also been sold to Nickelodeon (UK), Gulli (France) and Super RTL (Germany).

ER executive director, international Chloe van den Berg says, The Transformers animated series has had an incredible response from broadcasters around the globe. With 80 territories secured the show is set to be become an international hit, springboarding off of the success of last year’s Transfomers live-action movie that grossed more than $700 million at the box office worldwide.”

ER holds the worldwide television distribution rights (excluding the US) across both free and pay tv platforms for the series which premiered to huge ratings success on Cartoon Network in the US (highest rated kids cable programme in its time slot).

Transformers Animated is the next generation of the struggle between the Autobots and the Dcepticons and is being developed by Cartoon Network Studios in Los Angeles.
