MUMBAI: DHX Media Ltd, an independent international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, has reached a licensing agreement with Jetix U.S. for its animated comedy series Kid vs. Kat.

Jetix U.S. has acquired all 52, 11-minute episodes of the series. The new series is being produced by DHX Media's recently acquired animation company Studio B Productions Inc., in association with Jetix Europe, and Canadian kids' broadcaster, YTV.

"We are thrilled to be bringing Kid vs. Kat to audiences in the U.S. through a strong broadcaster like Jetix U.S. They are the perfect home for this action-packed comedy series," said Studio B Productions executive producer Blair Peters.

"In combination with our existing broadcast agreements with YTV Canada and Jetix Europe, we have secured placement in over one hundred territories across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa," added Peters.

Targeted at kids aged 6-11 Kid vs. Kat is about the exaggerated conflict between a cat and Coop, the beleaguered ten-year-old boy, to whom it has taken a demented dislike.

When Coop's spoiled little sister Millie brings home Kat, a stray kitty of mysterious origin, his idyllic life is turned upside-down. It's obvious to Coop that Kat wants to annihilate him. The problem is he has no evidence to prove it, as by the time his Dad comes onto the smoking, debris-littered scene, all evidence pointing to Kat is gone.
