MUMBAI: Canada-based 9 Story entertainment will produce the new live action series Survivorman Kids.

The series was commissioned to 9 Story Entertainment by Canada's YTV.

9 Story announced the development of a deal with filmmaker Les Stroud in October at MipCom 2007, to jointly develop a live-action series for kids inspired by Discovery Channel (USA) and OLN (Canada) reality series Survivorman.

"We're thrilled to be working with Stroud and YTV on an inaugural live-action series. This show will inspire kids to reach much higher than they ever thought they could," said 9 Story Entertainment CEO Vince Commisso.

"This partnership is proof positive of our commitment to seek out projects with strong appeal and potential, and to take them from development, to production and delivery within a targeted time-frame," added Commisso.

Survivorman Kids will take a team of six 14 to 16 year-olds for three weeks, with Stroud serving as their mentor and survivor skill judge.

Stroud will deploy his experience in the wild and personable communication style to take the participants on a journey where they start off as average kids with little or no outdoor experience, to confident, outdoor adventurers, able to confront anything nature may throw their way.
