MUMBAI: BBC Worldwide has sold the series Earth: The Power of the Planet to 34 broadcasters internationally, with the most recent deals being struck during the recently concluded television trade event MipTV.

The epic story of the planet can now be seen across the globe from Sweden, Qatar and Estonia to Latin America, Japan and Canada. Arabian Gulf Productions, national broadcaster China Central Television and Oryx Productions in Egypt were the latest platforms to license the five part HD series.

BBC Worldwide MD global TV sales Steve Macallister says, "Earth: Power of the Planet, with its stunning account of our planet’s natural history, is a shining example of our leadership in science and factual output. The title has certainly struck a chord with buyers from all over the world."

"The title has already won audiences around the globe and only looks set to build on its proven success."

The BBC/National Geographic Channel US/ZDF co-production examines the great forces that shape the Earth - volcanoes, the ocean, the atmosphere and ice – exploring each of their central roles in our planet's story.
