NEW DELHI: The second season of Turner's pre-school muppet show ‘Galli Galli Sim Sim’ will commence on 10 September at 2 pm on Pogo.

To air on weekdays, the show seeks to engage the young through interactive content.

The show has been co-produced by non-profit educational organization Sesame Workshop and Turner Entertainment Networks Asia Pacific (TENA) in creative collaboration with Miditech.

The muppets Googly and Chamki return with new muppet friends Akshar Kumar, Kewal Khadoosa, Zoonie, Ba and Baba, Dhenchoo and Rengu Rani will join young jockey Revathy on the interactive show. Each segment will have Akshar Kumar searching for a new ‘akshar’ (alphabetical letter), and hints will be dropped to help the kids, aged between three and six years, to identify the letter.

According to Miditech president Niret Alva, the show had been extensively researched. Five critical areas of early child development have been kept in mind while developing the programmes: physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural.

TENA vice president (advertising sales) Monica Tata said, Doordarshan would also air two episodes of the series in a single programme over the weekend. While the present series was in Hindi, versions may be produced in other languages later.

While Cartoon Network is aimed at the young between four to 14 years of age, Pogo is aimed at reaching older family audiences along with the children.

Cartoon Network reaches 25 million homes while Pogo is into 20 million households. The channels as a policy carry advertisements only before and after a programme, Tata added.
