MUMBAI:
BBC Entertainment is introducing ten new comedy and drama
series for the festive season.
In
the poignant comedy drama, Drop Dead Gorgeous, the story of
an ordinary family's bruising encounter with fame and glamour
is revealed. When schoolgirl, Ashley Webb (played by Sinead
Monaghan), is spotted by a modelling-scout, she enters the
uber-chic and sophisticated world of modelling, but it's not
long before the (lip) gloss begins to wear-off and Ashley's
world starts to crumble. Drop Dead Gorgeous is produced by
Hat Trick Productions and will premiere on Sunday 21 October
at 9:50pm on BBC Entertainment exclusively in India.
Hotel
Babylon explores a world of five-star luxury, where money
not only does all the talking but can also buy just about
anything. Inspired by Imogen Edwards-Jones's exposé
of life behind the scenes of London's hotel industry, the
drama takes viewers beyond the glamorous façade of
the smiling faces and glittering chandeliers and into the
frenetic, non-stop world of the staff. Hotel Babylon is produced
by independent production company Carnival Films and stars
Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley. Series 1 commenced on 16
September and Hotel Babylon Series 2 will premier on
Sunday 11 Nov, at 9:00 pm on BBC Entertainment.
Another
show is Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind hosted by the
celebrated illusionist.
The
new series of Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind premieres
on BBC Entertainment, on Saturday 27 October at 10:10 pm.
After
its Indian kick-off in May, Footballers Wives returns
again in October with a non-stop marathon that runs through
all episodes of season one and two. The series airs every
weeknight from Monday 15 October until Friday 2 November,
at 10:45 pm.

Henry, Chef, beginning on 9 October at 6:30 pm; Lead
Balloon, with award-winning comedian Jack Dee, premiering
