BBC Worldwide ramps up digital delivery team

MUMBAI: IUK pubcaster the BBC's commercial arm BBC Worldwide's Digital Delivery team has announces a series of key internal and external appointments as it continues to expand its online offering.

The digital delivery team, formed in May this year as a central resource for all of BBC Worldwide's online consumer facing activity, has already delivered web projects for brands such as Radio Times, Good Food and Gardeners' World.

 

Going forward the team will be developing, advising and delivering on online opportunities for other key BBC Worldwide brands and looking at online community and retail opportunities across the company.

Dan Heaf is the director, digital ventures. He
comes to BBC Worldwide us from BBC Vision and Audio and Music where he has been responsible for some of bbc.co.uk's first forays into social media, as well as steering Radio 1's digital strategy. He is responsible for growing new ideas and concepts through their initial stages prior to full development.

Alex White is the launch director. She will lead some of BBC Worldwide's key web delivery projects from conception to launch.

 
Matt Walton has also been appointed as a launch editor. Walton has worked on many BBC entertainment, culture and music websites, leading the development of Collective, Film Network, Seven Ages of Rock and the recent new look to the BBC Music site.

BBC Worldwide MD Magazines (London) and digital delivery Marcus Arthur said, "The digital delivery team is a central part of BBC Worldwide's digital strategy – we know we have the brands and the content to create great online experiences for consumers and the team is all about taking those assets and making them profitable realities. The new appointments to the team will enable them to broaden their review even further and to drive innovation and new services across the BBC Worldwide brand portfolio.
