MUMBAI: Gameloft, which develops and publisher of mobile games has announced a worldwide multi-year, multi-game agreement with CBS Mobile to develop, publish and distribute games based on the television series CSI.

The first game, based on CSI: Miami has ben l launched in the US and be available in 140 countries in the months thereafter. In India CSI airs on AXN.

CSI: Miami will be developed by Gameloft and CBS Mobile in concert with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation executive producer and creator Anthony Zuiker bringing involvement and direction from the show's creative auspices. The mobile game will be especially designed to capture the gripping storylines, look, atmosphere and intrigue that infuses each episode of CSI: Miami.

Gameloft VP Gonzague de Vallois says, "We are thrilled to welcome CBS as a partner and look forward to a long term relationship. The CSI franchise set the bar for primetime crime drama television by engaging viewers on all levels. The mobile games will expand the CSI storyline into a fun and interactive experience."

Zuiker says, "A mobile game adaptation of a CSI series is the perfect complement for a franchise with a fan base that watches the show with such a high level of engagement and interest in interactivity. We are thrilled to join forces with Gameloft and are confident in their expertise to capture the essence of CSI and translate it into a quality mobile game."

CBS Mobile executive VP Cyriac Roeding says, "This is a new quality level of cross-platform development. By involving Anthony Zuiker, the creator of CSI, directly in the mobile game development, we will create much more than just a 'brand extension' of the CSI franchise. This is what we call true 'platforming' of content.

"Gameloft is one of the best mobile game developers in the world, and we're pleased to add them to our growing list of best in breed partners. Gameloft truly thinks 'mobile' when creating games - that matches CBS Mobile's approach."

The launch of the CSI: Miami game coincided with the sixth season premiere of CSI: Miami on US broadcaster CBS. The new game will enable players to immerse themselves fully in the drama - allowing them to step into the role of lead investigator, collect evidence at the crime scene and interrogate suspects.

The game can be downloaded directly through AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint and Verizon.
