TU media to stream CNN Live on mobile

MUMBAI: In a new deal with TU Media, CNN International will be streamed live more than 16 hours a day to Korean mobile users.

 

More than a million subscribers of Korea's TU Media will be able to able to access the service that delivers CNN's mix of breaking news, business, sport, entertainment and feature programming directly to their mobile phones or other handheld devices. The deal between TU Media and CNN International comes into effect September.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with TU Media to enable Korean consumers to reach more of CNN. With the forthcoming week of dedicated live programming from Seoul and beyond, Eye on South Korea (www.cnn.com/southkorea), it is a particularly timely development," said Turner Broadcasting Systems Korea VP Ron Lee.

CNN Mobile was launched in February 1999 and it was the first mobile telephone news and information service available globally with targeted regional content.

 

The service keeps users connected 24/7 delivering CNN news content to mobile phones in a number of formats, including SMS, WAP, PartnerML for Vodafone Live; XHTML, cHTML for i-mode devices; CNNlive, a java news service which features CNN.com's top 10 stories, complete with photos and a scrolling ticker.

Available mobile TV news content now features CNN World News Now, CNN Hollywood Express and CNN News on Demand. Currently, CNN Mobile is available to more than 210 million subscribers worldwide through 38 international mobile operator partnerships in more than 30 countries on five continents.
