MUMBAI:
Big 92.7 FM has completed one year of existence in Hyderabad
on 25 September. Big FM is the third entrant in the Hyderabad
private FM market after the launch of Radio Mirchi and Radio
city.
As
part of the celebration, the Hyderabad station has launched
a contest "Paluke Bangaram" where every hour five
listeners are given gold coins through out the day. Big RJs
are celebrating birthday of listeners who are born on 25 September
by taking cakes to their homes. The cakes are sponsored by
a confectionary and bakery shop Country Oven.
Speaking
about the one year of existence in Hyderabad, Big FM station
director Ashwin Padmanabhan says, "FM radio was at nascent
stage when we entered Hyderabad market. Radio consumption
in Hyderabad cuts across all age group. So our target group
is Sec A, B, C, D and that is the reason we have managed to
be among the top position."
During
the period the 60- 65 per cent of cash flow of the station
is contributed by local advertisers, the national players
sharing the rest. Padmanabhan says that local garment shop,
real estate, super market and local financial institutes are
the key players in the local market.
Padmanabhan
explains the various activities the station has undertaken
during the year. "We achieved success for the cleanliness
drive in the city that we had orgainised during the time when
Hyderabad was affected by chikengunya. In 'Salaam' awards,
we felicitated those individual who contributed something
good to the society."
