NGC Asia partners Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore

MUMBAI: National Geographic Channel (NGC) Asia has announced a partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), StarHub and Samsung Asia to bring a full high-definition (HD) experience to Singapore's Changi Airport.

This first-time initiative seeks to provide business travellers with NGC HD.

 

From modern science to megastructures and from investigations to lost cultures and natural history, National Geographic Channel HD offers viewers with insights, findings with theatre-quality 5.1-channel surround.

Changi Airport business travellers will be able to experience the full benefits of high-definition television (HDTV) with Samsung’s premium full HD M8 LCD television and Samsung’s award-winning HT-TXQ120 full surround sound system. The high-definition 'live feed' to the showcase is provided by StarHub.

The 24-hour NGC HD Showcase is located at the Departure Transit Mall, Changi Airport Terminal 2, towards the 'E' Gates.

StarHub VP marketing Iris Wee says, "StarHub is the first operator in Southeast Asia to offer a commercial HDTV service, and the National Geographic Channel was one of the first channels to be carried by StarHub in full high-definition splendour.

"National Geographic Channel is well-known for its high-quality content, and we are glad to provide the 'live' feed of the channel to Changi Airport Terminal 2 passengers so that they, like our cable TV customers at home, can enjoy the high-definition television experience."

NGC HD is the first 24-hour high-definition channel in Asia Pacific. It is exclusively available in Singapore on StarHub Digital Cable Channel 301 since 18 January.
