MUMBAI: BBC World is now available on broadband news on demand service outside the UK. Around 30 broadband-quality international news clips and hourly one-minute World News summaries are available on the 'watch' icons at bbcnews.com on a daily basis.

The channel's content is also available globally on mobile phones and via third-party websites which includes YouTube, Yahoo and RealNetworks.

BBC World eitorial director Sian Kevill said, "Our news clips have been available in broadband on third-party commercial websites for some time, so it makes sense for us to upgrade our service so audiences can enjoy the same broadband quality clips on our own site. The broadband news clip service is part of our digital strategy to attract new audiences and encourage them to sample the fantastic news content available from BBC World."

The cost of the news on demand service upgrade, and on-going delivery is being funded by pre-roll and banner advertising around the broadband news clips.

The first five companies to run advertising campaigns are British Airways, Citibank, Delta Airways, Emirates and Nokia.
