MUMBAI: Gartner Inc has positioned internet security providers Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. in the 'leaders quadrant' in its Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection 2007 report.

According to Gartner, "Leaders have products that work well for Gartner clients. They have long-term road maps that match Gartner's vision of the developing needs of buyers in the market. They make their competitors' sales staff nervous and force competitors' technical staffs to follow their lead. Their mobile data protection products are well-known to clients, and they encounter little resistance in selling their products."

Check Point Software Technologies country sales manager India and Saarc Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu said, "This is a moment of honour to be positioned in the leaders quadrant by Gartner. This further reiterates the confidence that Check Point has garnered from all its stakeholders and validates our success and commitment to securing sensitive information. With increase in data loss incidents in India and tightening of regulations, Check Point offers businesses, through our Pointsec products, solutions that secures data on all common platforms, easily deployable, scales to any size organization and meets regulatory compliance requirements."

Check Point solutions completely protect data on laptops, desktops, PDAs, smartphones, USB drives, and other removable media by combining strong encryption with access control.

Performance of the device is retained, and no user interaction or behavioral changes are required. This ensures all data remains protected, company image stays intact and regulatory requirements are met.

The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner. Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in the Magic Quadrant, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors placed in the "Leaders" quadrant.
