'Pogo Funtakshari' culminates Mumbai leg

MUMBAI: The grand finale of the Mumbai leg of Pogo Funtakshari 2007 was held on 7 September. The championship received participation from 100 schools.

The preliminary rounds were held across in around 100 schools in the city and ten teams were selected from each school to qualify for the city round. All aspiring participants took a written test evaluating their knowledge of music, to participate in the city elimination rounds. In the city round, around 1000 teams went through the first elimination round, from where 50 teams were selected.

The final eight teams went through the second elimination round to compete for the grand city championship. The grand finale invited final teams to play the musical game of 'Antakshari' with very distinctive and enjoyable rounds such as 'Gol Maal', 'Bujho to Jaane', 'Dumb Charades' and 'Filmi Chakkar,' states an official release.


Turner Entertainment Networks - Asia Pacific executive director, marketing Vivek Krishnani said, "The innovative Pogo Funtakshari 2007 is our way of giving our viewers across the country a unique interactive platform to enjoy and interact with their favourite channel Pogo.

"We received tremendous response to Pogo Funtakshari from Mumbai, both during the on-air auditions and the preliminary rounds. Keeping in sync with the channel's mantra of empowering kids, we are glad we could realize the dreams of these four children from Mumbai by giving them an opportunity to be a Radio RJ and be a TV star on Pogo," he said.

After Bangalore and Mumbai the other cities in which Pogo Funtakshari will be held are Delhi and Kolkata.
