MUMBAI: The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (Casbaa) has announced four new corporate members along with one up-graded membership from corporate to patron status.

The four organisations signed as corporate members include US-based software, services and IT solutions provider Microsoft Corporation; European broadcaster Deutsche Welle; global private equity firm Providence Equity Partners and US-based religious television network TBN.

The newly up-graded patron member is Netherlands-based satellite communication services provider SES New Skies.

Casbaa CEO Simon Twiston Davies says, "We are delighted to see the continuous growth of the Casbaa membership base. The new memberships further demonstrate the depth of commitment to developing the traditional pay-TV industry and new digital video distribution networks."
