The
DVD can be viewed in both Hindi and English available
for the first time simultaneously on the movie. The
DVD print of the movie has been digitally restored
by animation and computer experts who have worked
on each frame from the original camera negative.
Excel
Home Videos MD MN Kapasi says, "Since
the Jungle Book was shot using successive
exposure method, there were around 337,000 frames
that is nearly four miles of film strips!"
The
extra features on the DVD include three Games featuring
the characters of the film and one called DisneyPedia:
Junglemania which also educates children with
information on the habitats and lifestyles of the
various animals found in the Asian jungles.
The
DVD also contains music videos sung by Sunidhi Chauhan
and performed by Dhoom Machao Dhoom girls besides
many others including American pop rock band, Jonas
Brothers.
The
DVD also features certain characters who didn't feature
in the original movie and also seven deleted songs
apart from songs like Bare Necessities and
I wanna be like you which have won several
awards and accolades.
The
DVD contains the interviews of present day animators
(creators of The Lion King, Tarzan,
and Aladdin) who credit Jungle Book
to be their inspiration in luring them to the world
of animation.
The
movie follows the adventures of a boy named Mowgli,
as he makes his way back to the man village with Bagheera,
the wise panther in order to be safe from Sher Khan,
the tiger. Along the way he meets jazzy King Louie,
the hypnotic snake Kaa and the care free bear, Baloo
who teaches him the true meaning of friendship.
Adapted
from Rudyard Kiplings Novel of the same name,
the animation movie which released on 18 October 1967
went on to become the epitome of Disney character
animation. The movie was the last offering of Walt
Disney and it went on to inspire a whole generation
of animators.
