UTV ropes in Preneet Malhotra as UTV Interactive CEO

MUMBAI: UTV Software Communications has made some appointments at the senior executive level.

Preneet Malhotra is appointed as CEO of UTV Interactive. She will report directly to UTV Software Communications CEO Ronnie Screwvala.

In her new position, Malhotra will lead the gaming and animation business worldwide which include UTV Toons and UK-based console developer Ignition. She comes from Electronic Arts where she held the position of COO. Malhotra has worked with brands like PepsiCo, KFC, GAP, Hutchison's Watson's Group (HK).

Roma Patel joins as group director finance and strategy. She will have responsibility for strategy, finance, legal and business development for the UTV Group.

Patel has undertaken advisory, corporate development and chief financial officer roles within PriceWaterhouseCoopers, NatWest Group Plc, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, VT Group Plc and most recently at Skanska. She will be moving from the UK to Mumbai for her role at UTV.

Heather Saville has been appointed as group HR head. She has earlier worked with McCann -Erickson, JWT and Lintas (Lowe) India.

UTV Software Communications CEO Ronnie Screwvala said, "As the media industry continues to change dramatically, we need to ensure that UTV is positioned to leverage its scale and strengthen its functional capabilities.
