Charlie and Lola win Best TV Programme at Animadrid Festival

MUMBAI: CBeebies' Charlie and Lola has won the Best TV Programme Award at the Animadrid Film Festival. It beat Shaun the Sheep in the International TV Programme category at the 8th annual animation awards ceremony in Spain at the weekend.

Charlie and Lola have already had a successful run this year at the awards by picking up six accolades in Italy at the 'Cartoons on the Bay' awards and the Rai Sat Yoyo Awards. The siblings also won best TV series at the Annecy Animation awards in France.



BBC Worldwide Global TV Sales has now sold Charlie and Lola to 34 countries. According to an official release, in Norway it is the best rating title with a 90 per cent audience share in the children's slot and is the highest rating title with 45 per cent audience share on VRT in Belgium.

The programme premiers on CBeebies on 15 October in India and airs week days at 7.20 am, 10.20 am, 1.20 pm and 4.20 pm, and on weekends at 8.25 am, 11.25 am, 2.25 pm and 5.25 pm.

Charlie and Lola are soon to complete their tour of US shopping malls with their own puppet show, "I will not ever never eat a tomato."
