DTL will show avenues that millionaires can access to
fulfill their passion. This ranges from design cars
to architecture to million dollar villas.
One
special is dedicated to fashion icon Ralph Lauren. He
dwells on his passion for cars and the show Ralph
Lauren Car Collection Speed, Style and Beauty airs
on 11 December at 7 pm.
Lauren
showcases his car collection which has taken 25 years
to make. He has 29 cars that span 70 years of automotive
history. This includes Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Alfa
Romeo and Jaguar. He derives inspiration for his design
from his car collection. He says that the cars he has
have a message of timeless beauty.
Superhomes
airs every Thursday at 8 pm in December. It focusses
on Sotheby's International Realty whose clients range
from business men and celebrities to aristocrats. The
show will feature ranches, country estates, Hollywood
mansions and private islands. It aims to capture the
tension of big deals won and lost by the super rich.
Among
other things viewers will meet real estate agent Bernard
Koning who lives in an extravagant manner. He showcases
some rare properties. One is owned by the Sultan of
Brunei and is priced at nearly 100 million euros. Another
is owned by an IT millionaire in the UK and sometimes
he rents it out for over 150,000 euros a month.
This
will be followed by Day Trip Designer at 8:30
pm. It mixes elements of travel and entertainment design
history. It deals with furniture. In each episode the
host Tim Hitchens who is a furniture designer, travels
across Europe looking to buy classic pieces of furniture.
He goes to Denmark's capital Copenhagen which is said
to be the epicenter of modern design.
Among other things he visits Trivoli, a wonderland for
children and adults. This is a 20 acre pleasure park
full of rides, parkland and candy floss. It is in the
heart of the city and so people visit it for a bit of
fun.
