IOL Broadband signs pact with MTNL for VoIP

MUMBAI: IOL Broadband, which offers IPTV, has extended its agreement with MTNL to offer VoIP services. With this, IOL can make available videophones to all its broadband subscribers along with VoIP phone and teleconferencing services.

 

"IOL has signed a VoIP service provider's agreement with MTNL," the company said in a release.

VoIP calls will be extended through MTNL's access network on the broadband platform. IOL will have to set up a VoIP server and have a billing system.

MTNL already has an agreement with Aksh Optifibre Ltd to provide VoIP services.

"The agreement will allow us to interconnect with millions of MTNL subscribers with local / STD / International calls at very low rates. We are planning a capacity of 100 million minutes in the first year going up to one billion minutes in two years time," IOL Broadband said in a release.

 
IOL has announced availability of videophones to all its broadband subscribers along with VoIP phone and teleconferencing services.

"With this agreement, we are now able to offer bundled voice, video and data services in addition to IPTV," the release said.
