"IOL
has signed a VoIP service provider's agreement
with MTNL," the company said in a release.
VoIP
calls will be extended through MTNL's access
network on the broadband platform. IOL will
have to set up a VoIP server and have a
billing system.
MTNL
already has an agreement with Aksh Optifibre
Ltd to provide VoIP services.
"The
agreement will allow us to interconnect
with millions of MTNL subscribers with local
/ STD / International calls at very low
rates. We are planning a capacity of 100
million minutes in the first year going
up to one billion minutes in two years time,"
IOL Broadband said in a release.
