Star appoints Edward Hanapole as CIO

MUMBAI: Star has appointed Edward Hanapole as its chief information officer.

 

In this newly created post, Hanapole will be responsible for developing the company's digital technology and new media capabilities across the region.

Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Star COO Laureen Ong.

Announcing the appointment, Ong said, "Edward joined us from the News Corporation Global Technology Group. He is an experienced digital media executive with strong vision and a passion for innovation. His credentials and experiences will be of great value to Star as the company seeks to expand its digital services in the region."

 
Before joining Star, Hanapole was VP, global technology for News Corporation, responsible for leading efforts to increase content and technology sharing among News Corporation's internet properties. Prior to that, he has worked for IBM and New York Times Digital, a division of The New York Times Company.
