MUMBAI:
The government today cleared a foreign fund infusion of Rs
46.2 million into INX Media, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea's
upcoming entertainment network venture.
This
was one of the 23 approvals granted for foreign direct investment
(FDI) proposals involving a total of Rs 4183.3 million. Finance
Minister P Chidambaram gave his seal of approval on the recommendations
of the FIPB, the Press trust of India newswire reported, quoting
from an offical statement issued in the capital today.
Besides
INX Media, TV-18's Home Shopping Network Holdings also got
FDI clearance of Rs 2.1 million, PTI reported.
Additonally, Chidambaram approved the proposal of BBC Worldwide
(no fresh fund inflow).
