MUMBAI: Voom HD Networks has appointed David Alworth as vice president of operations and program administration. He moves in from Rainbow Sports Networks where he was vice president of operations.

Along with overseeing the operational and business affairs related activities for Voom HD Networks' 15 HD channels, Voom's global channel, and its ongoing content sales operations in his new role, Alworth will also take care of production negotiation and management, content delivery, rights management and administration.

He will report directly to Voom HD Networks senior vice president of global operations and business development Glenn Oakley.

"Voom fills an important content void within the global marketplace where the trend toward HDTV is ascending at such a fast pace. Having Dave on board will open up even more opportunities for audiences to experience Voom HD," says Oakley.

Prior to joining Rainbow, Alworth was executive vice president of ACTV, Inc., a digital media company focused on interactive television and enhanced media.
