Pogo to introduce English feed of 'Galli Galli Sim Sim' to Southern markets

MUMBAI: The second kids' channel from the Turner stable Pogo, is set to launch a 30 episode special summer series of the preschool show, Galli Galli Sim Sim on 22 May at 2 pm. This season, the channel will air the educational series not only in Hindi but also in English specifically for the Southern market.

While the Hindi speaking markets will continue a Hindi telecast, they will introduce kids to English alphabets as well.

The summer special series of Galli Galli Sim Sim, in its new format, promises to be more interactive as the muppets - Chamki, Googly, Boombah and Aanchoo become the hosts of the show and take kids through a half-hour journey. There will be one "English Letter of the Day" that will be taught to young audiences with an interactive and fun-filled approach. The series continues to promote learning through the specially-designed curriculum, focusing on cognition, language, emotional development and social skills. An English version of the foot-tapping title track has been specially created for the audiences in South India, informs an official release.

Commenting on the launch of the Galli Galli Sim Sim summer special series, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. VP advertising sales and networks, India and South Asia Monica Tata said, "The launch of the bi-lingual new series of Galli Galli Sim Sim is a summer treat for kids, as they can now utilize their vacations in watching a show that will make learning fun for them. Galli Galli Sim Sim touches millions of lives and helps kids prepare for school and life. Additionally, Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), the global licensing and merchandising division of Cartoon Network, is launching a whole new range of school products for kids called the Galli Galli Sim Sim Back to school range. This range will include school bags, stationery kits, story books, soft toys, apparel for girls and boys and home furnishings, available at affordable prices at select stores such as Pantaloon, Lifestyle, Piramyd, Landmark, Hypercity and Lilliput.
