MUMBAI: 11 year old Kavan Aadim Bhavin, a student from Delhi who triumphed in National Geographic Channel's (NGC) Junior Hunt local initiative recently met the President APJ Abdul Kalam.

Kavan was adjudged India's super kid amongst 290,000 kids who participated in NGC's quest for the country's super kid. Kavan and the three other finalists reached the finale after a host of rounds designed to test the kids' abilities based on the multiple intelligence theory in alignment to the channel's 'Think again' approach.

It was last year that NGC had decided that the best way to connect with kids was to do something not just on-air but also on-ground. Of course NGC over the years has done a lot of local initiatives like its Mission property. This was the first time though that it did something special for kids. Nat Geo Junior Hunt was basically a quest to find India’s superkid who is curious, adventurous, articulate, energetic and smart, in short, an all rounder. Kavan fit the bill in the face of what must have been stif competition.

The channel will open a fund for his future studies. In addition, he will host Nat Geo Junior shows on the channel for three months and will also win a bouquet of prizes from the partners of the hunt - ICICI Prudential, Lenovo and Club Mahindra.

The interactive meeting with the President saw Kavan asking a lot of questions and receiving invaluable tips on one's attitude towards life. The President also advised Kavan that even if one doesn't reach where he wants to be, his thoughts must always soar. He said no one can stop you from achieving your goals if you chase your dreams honestly. Dr. Kalam also gave him his mantra to success which states 'Dream, dream, dream, dream… dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result into action.' Kavan also presented Dr. Kalam with a card made by him and his brother during the Gujarat earthquake to collect funds for the victims.

NGC India VP– marketing Rajesh Sheshadri, said, "The Nat Geo Junior Hunt endeavoured to stimulate the intellect of our young audiences to re-think and learn more about the world they live in while enjoying the experience. I would like to thank President APJ Abdul Kalam for helping us fulfill Kavan's dream to meet him and inspiring him to aim high and keeping his dreams alive".
