MUMBAI: The late Len Carlson, voice-over star of the animated series Atomic Betty has won the 2007 Actra Award for best voice performance. The announcement was made by Breakthrough Animation Inc. executive producer and managing partner Kevin Gillis.

With a third season in production and an exciting brand new creative direction, Atomic Betty follows the adventures of a young girl, whose double life as "Galactic Guardian and Defender of the Cosmos" takes her on a whirlwind journey through space.

Merchandising and licensing deals have been signed for the growing brand, including Penguin Books for publishing and Hallmark for greeting cards, informs an official release.

"We are extremely proud that Len Carlson won this prestigious Actra Award," says Gillis. "It is a fitting legacy to his iconic talent that Len be honoured posthumously and recognized for his wonderful work in Atomic Betty. It is a tribute to the amazing depth of his talent as he created more than 18 voices for this series alone! We all miss him."

A co-production between Atomic Cartoons, Breakthrough Animation Inc., and TeleImages Kids, Atomic Betty has been licensed worldwide to broadcasters in over 130 territories.
