Australian film production company completes 150 Indo Australian projects

MUMBAI: Australian film production firm Film and Casting Temple has completed 150 projects between India and Australia. It positions itself as the only Australian film firm that exclusively works with India.

The 150th project was Heyy Babyy which was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and shot in Australia. The company will also make Australia’s first Bollywood film. The companhy;s founder Anupam Sharma who is a filmmaker will be making the film. He notes that India Australian film links have many aspects. Indian Australian film links have grown over the past decade.

Over the last six months three Bollywood films Love Story 2050, Chak De India and Heyy Babyy have been shot in Australia. Indians shooting in Australia are not just using the locations but also crew, production consultancy and post production services.

Meanwhile India and Italy have four co-productions on the floor. The announcement was made by Italy Communications Minister Paolo Gentilini Silveri. He notes that both the countries are focussing on giving consumers access to digital content, taking advantage of a strong cultural tradition and also investing in new technologies. He says that the Italian film commission is pushing its film locations to India producers. The Rome Film festival in October will have a focus on Indian cinema. Also Italian films will be shown at all Indian film festivals. India also has a co-production treaty with Germany. It will sign one with the UK in May.
