MUMBAI: Disney in collaboration with Devyani International
Ltd (DIL), a subsidiary of RJ Corp, has unveiled its
first merchandise store 'Disney Artist' in Delhi today.
Following RJ Corp's exclusive master franchisee agreement
with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) inked in October
2006 and has currently pumped in Rs 1.5 billion to set
up 300 branded outlets within the time frame of five
years.
In 2007 alone, Disney is looking to set up 22 'Disney
Artist' stores but as part of its expansion the company
plans to extend its reach across Tier II cities including
Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. The product range
offered will be priced between Rs 25 to Rs 900 and will
be targeted at kids in 3 - 10 age bracket. Initially,
the products will be imported but after the first 100
outlets are set up, DIL will manufacture units in India.
