BANGALORE: Berger Paints and Cartoon Network have joined hands to offer children an exclusive range of branded paint kits called Berger Kidz.

A first from both Berger and Cartoon Network, this offer is aimed at providing kid consumers across the country with a ready-to-use kit that includes special paints, character stencils, instruction booklet, roller brush, colour palettes for each of the characters and has been competitively priced at Rs 1650. In addition to the character stencils, the kits also include accessories stencils with each character as well as suggested themes.

Available at over 3,000 retail counters across India, it gives kids the choice to paint their walls with their favourite Cartoon Network toons such as The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo. The product can be applied on existing paints, plus kids who want to get an entire fresh look can choose from a variety of color range specially designed for kids. Though the kit gives the option of parents using the help of professional painters, it also offers kids and parents an exciting chance of doing it themselves, states an official release.

"The primary focus of the company is to ensure that using the new product becomes a source of enjoyment for the kids and we are extremely happy to have Cartoon Network with us. We have been trying to position painting as a fun activity for the entire family and felt that Cartoon Network is the ideal medium and partner for this objective. This is a complete change from earlier days wherein painting was seen to be a monotonous and tedious job. We do hope our association with Cartoon Network will help us come up with more such innovative products in the near future," says a Berger spokesman.

"The mission of Cartoon Network Enterprises is to take the magic of cartoons beyond the realm of television and this exciting new venture with Berger brings us closer to our overall vision. After Bombay Dyeing and Portico, this is our third strategic alliance to extend our popular home furnishing range. In the first phase, Berger Kidz will feature three of the most popular Cartoon Network original shows and characters - The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo," said Cartoon Network Enterprises, India and South Asia executive director Jiggy George.

This offering is the latest addition to the Lewis Berger brand. Lewis Berger has been a major re-branding initiative aimed in giving Berger Paints a new identity under a new logo. Lewis Berger encompasses a series of significant changes aimed at overall brand upgrading. These include upgrade in the quality of paint, pack, design, printing on the containers and cartons, the aesthetics of the paint outlets across the country and most importantly the quality of services given to the consumer. Another pioneering initiative undertaken by the company is the introduction of warranty on cans.
