MUMBAI: While the summer vacation months are a peak period for kid's television channels, the battle with GEC's continues to affect their viewership in India.

The skirmish for kid's attention has just intensified as top rated Hindi entertainment channel Star Plus is looking to cash in on this segment with the launch of Antakshari - The Great Challenge Little Stars on 4 June.

The second season of Antakshari - The Great Challenge is not only targeted at children but has also been shifted from its earlier positioning on the weekend slot of sister channel Star One. It has now been wisely placed on Star Plus Monday to Thursday from 7.30 - 8.30 pm. This is an advantageous slot as it makes for family viewing that will conveniently shift audinces directly onto hard core GEC primetime that starts with Kasautii Zindagii Ki at 8.30 pm.

This move could well displace a couple of kid's channel evening primetime strategy's as the age old music based show continues to be popular among audiences even today.

The evening band that Antakshari will occupy was previously held by Karam Apna Apna, that has now been shifted to the afternoon slot, and a repeat telecast of Ba Bahu Aur Baby.

Hosted by Annu Kapur and Juhi Parmar, the Gajendrra Siingh production will bring together 'Little Stars' from different states to represent their respective regional zones and sing their hearts out. The channel promises to provide a musical bonanza for viewers with its programming mix and content.
