MUMBAI: Instant messaging website Meebo has announced a new version of recently-launched meebo rooms partner edition.

Meebo rooms are places where people can chat and view media live with IM buddies, both inside meebo.com and across the web on their own sites. The new version, Partner Edition, adds extra functionality to meet the requirements of highly-trafficked and feature-rich sites.

First to adopt this new functionality are the music industry communities of Amie Street, BuddyLube, Capitol Records, Columbia Records, Fearless Records, Flyer Records, Hollywood Records, Universal Motown/Universal Republic, Vh1 and many more.

"At meebo, our mission is to connect people live across the Web," said meebo VP business Martin Green. "With the partner edition of rooms, sites can use meebo to build fan loyalty, increase their audience and grow their business."

Over the next several weeks, many media companies and social networks will embed meebo rooms, Partner Edition, into their websites to enhance live engagement with their audiences. All embedded meebo rooms additionally provide brands and content providers with an opportunity to distribute content and branding, instantly, to the over one million people that log into meebo every day, states an official press release.

In conjunction with this announcement, meebo is also joining forces with record labels like Capitol Records, Columbia Records, Fearless Records, Flyer Records, Island Def Jam Music Group, Jive Records, Nettwerk Music Group, Universal Motown/Universal Republic, and Virgin Records to connect fans live in seamless conversation on artists' official pages, Myspace profiles and on personal pages, embedded by fans.

Partner Edition functionalities include facilities like integration with partners' existing registration system, automated capacity spillover and ad tracking.
