MUMBAI: Miditech is aggressively eyeing the digital new media space to foray into content creation for the mobile and internet platform in this fiscal. The company is looking at launching a co-branded broadband portal and is in talks with several International players for a global media partner.

With a key emphasis on animation, lifestyle and drama, the production house is currently developing prototypes and piloting efforts across the mentioned genres for internet and mobile properties.

To further this initiative, Miditech has appointed former Star India and Cricinfo.com CTO (Interactive Media) Milind Naik as chief technology officer. He will be based in Bangalore, which is currently being developed as the centre for the company's new media initiatives. So far, Bangalore has been servicing the regional television market.

He will also be responsible for building the company's IT infrastructure that will facilitate smoother communication and exchange of data between Miditech's various production centres in India and abroad.

Alva said, "Milind not only has a critical role to play in Miditech's foray into the new media space, he will also help us use the latest technology to deliver better quality content more efficiently to our broadcast and other media partners."
