Disney's on air contest 'Lose Control' names winners

MUMBAI: The peak summer months for kid's television have culminated as children head back to school. Disney has also ended its special on air initiative by announcing the winners of 'Lose Control' contest.

The three lucky winners have been selected from across the three big metros Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata to win a trip to Disneyland in Hong Kong. Disney claims to have received more than 2,00,000 entries during the four week contest from April to May.

The Walt Disney Television International (India) director marketing and communications Tushar Shah said, "Disney Channel continues to provide an opportunity to its viewers to interact with their favorite stories and characters. We are happy that kids have found our events and contests engaging and they are able to express themselves in a whole new way every time."

Carl Williams was chosen from Mumbai, Aashna Gupta from Delhi and Aanya Obrien from Kolkata, each of them being accompanied by their guardian to Disneyland.

Kids participated from across India to catch their favourite characters in one of the 'Lose Control moments' shown daily on the channel. Apart from the three grand prize winners, 400 kids received Disney Channel video games and 200 kids rode home Disney Channel scooters, while every entry got a special Disney Channel poster.

Aashna Suryakant Gupta (winner), 13 year old from Delhi, explains, "I always wanted to visit Disneyland with my family, and greet all my favorite characters. We all enjoyed the parades and rides. My sister and I were very excited to take photos with Mickey and Pluto, who are my favorites".

Aanya Obrien, 11 year old from Kolkata said, "On my second trip to Hong Kong Disneyland I enjoyed the roller- coaster adventure with my mom. I loved taking pictures with Goofy and shopping for souvenirs for my relatives'. I would like to say thanks to Disney Channel for the trip".

Carl Williams, 10 year old from Mumbai said, "I loved the Pirates of Caribbean zone. And I also liked the Winnie the Pooh ride. But Mickey's Philhar Magic was my favorite."
