Disney signs IPTV deal in UK with Tiscali

MUMBAI: The Disney-ABC Television Group has signed a deal to supply three Disney-branded channels to subscribers of Italian-owned ISP Tiscali's internet TV (IPTV) service in the UK.

The Disney Channel and preschool service Playhouse Disney will now be available as part of Tiscali TV's kids pack, while family channel Disney Cinemagic will be offered as a standalone premium subscription channel.

Tiscali TV subscribers will now have access to Disney Channel programmes including live-action series Hannah Montana and Disney Channel original movies, such as High School Musical.

Playhouse Disney offers preschool series including CGI animation series My Friends Tigger and Pooh, while Disney Cinemagic offers Tiscali customers animated films such as The Incredibles and Chicken Little.

Disney Channel UK MD Rob Gilby says, "Our mission is to ensure that our audience can engage with Disney Channel programming via as many platforms as possible. For this reason we are excited to be announcing this IPTV deal with Tiscali, to provide Disney Channels to more children and families."
