MUMBAI: Leveraging the excitement around the 'Harry
Potter' property, bookstore Crossword has lined up a
host of in-store activities for Potter fans in time
for the release of the final Harry Potter book, Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
As
part of this promotional activity titled 'Pottermania,'
the month of July will be completely dedicated to special
events at its stores across the country.
Readings
from books 1-7 will be conducted along with treasure
hunts, puppet shows, trivia competitions, craft activities,
origami and picture based housie. All this will lead
up to the grand Potter party on 21 July when the book
finally goes on sale, states an official release.
Crossword
Bookstores head - operations and marketing Aniyan Nair
said, "In 2005, we sold over 10,000 copies of 'Harry
Potter and the Half Blood Prince' across our 26 stores
in the country. We expect the sales figures to be much
higher for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
(in the range of 20,000 -25,000 copies), as we have
expanded to 44 stores this year and the level of enthusiasm
and interest in the last book is the highest in the
series.
