MUMBAI:
Flying Aces, with the support of the Fédération
Aéronautique Internationale (FAI; the world air sports
federation), is filming a series of major world air sports
championships in 2007.
The
coverage will feature in what will be the first-ever television
series dedicated solely to the full range of international
air sports.
Developed
by Flying Aces and production partner, Pro-Active Television,
AirSports World will be a 13-part series, showcasing
the FAIs major international championships in each air
sport in 2007. Sports categories covered will include aerobatics,
skydiving, hot air ballooning, gliding, aeromodelling, hang
gliding, para-skiing, paramotor flying and air racing.
The
13 programmes which are to be broadcast worldwide later tis year will also feature
special reports on world record attempts, air sports athletes, personalities and
lifestyles; as well as rounding up the latest air sports news. This is the first
time such a comprehensive and ambitious television project has been undertaken. FAI
secretary general Max Bishop says, "Air sports have much to offer to TV audiences
- everyone dreams of flying. Our international championships are challenging,
diverse, inspiring and most of all, highly competitive. We are pleased that the
public will now be able to see them on television." Flying
Aces MD Jeff Zaltman says, "Air sports is the final frontier in sport and
we are pioneering the commercialisation of this industry. Air sports will be a
mainstream segment on TV very soon." Flying
Aces has opened the door to submissions from enthusiasts and event organisers
to contribute footage and stories on various air sports events and newsworthy
happenings around the world. |
