MUMBAI: Raj TV is in the process of roping in South Indian superstar Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya Tanush Rajnikanth for a mega reality show.

"Raj TV is currently in advanced talks with Aishwarya to host a local format reality show," says a source.

The Tamil channel, in fact, is all set to spice up its programming mix with another reality show which will go on air in mid-August.

Aashirwad, a prime time half-hour show, will be hosted by Bharat Natyam dancer Brinda Das. The 26-episode show will air on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 pm.

Raj TV will be investing Rs 10 million on the programme. Says Raj TV COO-creative Raju Easwaran, "Auditions have already begun across cities in Tamil Nadu for the show. ITC is the main sponsor and the total budget for the entire package of episodes is about Rs 10 million."

Aashirwad will be centred around the Bharat Natyam dance form and will have a mother and daughter team comprising a team. "There will be 12 teams and eminent dance personalities will be judges. A film celebrity will be a guest judge every week. Contestants will be judged on audience vote and judges' decisions, with 33 per cent of audience votes by SMS influencing the final decision of winners for a prize money of Rs 100000," says Easwaran.

The channel currently has one-hour quiz-based game show Kaasu Mazhai (meaning Money shower), hosted by actress Sangeeta. It airs on Saturdays at 10 pm.

"Contestants after answering a volley of questions are sent into a high-pressure gas chamber where currency notes float in the air. The contestant pockets as much money as he can within the stipulated 20 seconds inside the chamber. Generally one wins within the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000," says Easwaran.

Tamil GECs Sun TV and Vijay TV also run two reality shows on weekends.
