MUMBAI: Prasar Bharti has agreed to place two new education channels with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to widen the scope of transmitting lessons to students through distance learning programmes.

The new channels of Gyan Darshan, GD-1 and GD-2 will be on-air on DD Direct Plus the direct to home (DTH) platform of Door Darshan.

"Students will receive the facility at home to participate in live teleconferencing with these channels", said IGNOU vice chancellor VN Rajashekharan Pillai.

Since 2000 IGNOU has established a bouquet of Gyan Darshan channels with the cooperation of ministry of Human Research Development (HRD) and indian space research organization (ISRO).
