The
Guidelines had hitherto stated that the
amount would be paid on the basis of the
‘audited accounts of the Company for
that particular financial year’.
The amendment notified by the Information
and Broadcasting ministry recently also
says that the ‘annual License fee for
the financial year shall be finally determined
on the basis of final annual accounts of
the FY audited by the Statutory Auditors,
which shall not be later than 30 September
of the following FY.’
If this amount is found to be higher than
the amount already deposited, the difference
amount along with simple interest at the
rate of one per cent per month on the difference
for the period of delay calculated from
1 May of the following FY upto and including
the date of such payment shall be paid in
one lumpsum within a period of 15 days from
the date of finalization of audited accounts,
or 15 October of the following FY whichever
is earlier.
