BANGALORE: Trade Fairs & Conferences International (TFCI) is organizing Web Innovation 2007 –- the nextgen web technology revolution, Web 2.0 and beyond, at Bangalore on 18 and 19 December.

 

Announcing Web Innovation 2007 in Bangalore, Brickwork chairman and CEO and former IT secretary, government of Karnataka Vivek Kulkarni said, “We are happy to be a part of Web Innovation 2007, which focuses on the importance of Web 2.0 technology and its applications. In a nutshell, Web 2.0 technologies tend to foster innovation in the assembly of systems and sites composed by pulling together features from distributed and independent developers. This is a great platform to both IT and business decision-makers to get all-round views and in-depth information about Web 2.0 technology.”

TFCI CEO, Bal Tarakad said, “Over 45 top-notch Web 2.0 experts will speak at the Web 2.0 conference and will be attended by more than 750+ delegates from across the country. The Web Designer Award 2007, jointly sponsored by the National Institute of Design and Microsoft, will be announced at this conference."

The Web Innovation Designer Contest 2007, which is to be held as part of the event, will offer a platform for professionals to unleash their creative instincts and get recognition. This contest has been created for those who are involved in disciplines such as design and development, media and advertising, ICT, software development, etc.

 
An event of this type is new for India, claims Tarakad, and depending upon the response, he plans to make this an annual event, as well as take a number of such events to other cities and companies in India.

Some of the participants are Microsoft, IndiaTimes, Yahoo!, NetMagic, SAP, SIFY, Adobe, Epsilon, Intel, BEA Systems, Web Trends, Meta Infotech and Techno Point. This event has also registered the support of podcast and online marketing partners such as Kiruba, OmLogic and BlogNation, in addition to support from 16 online media companies such as Dataquest, ZDNet India, Network Computing, CXO Today, CTO Forum, etc.

NID, Microsoft and TFCI present the maiden Web Innovation Designer Awards 2007.
