MUMBAI:
After launching 31 FM stations across India in a year's time,
Big FM is now reaching out to international shores.
The
FM station from the Reliance ADA Group has entered into a
syndication agreement for non-music content with US based
radio station Asian FM.
Big
FM vice president business development Jayyant Bhokare said,
"Starting 1 September, we will syndicate six to seven
hours of non-music content to Asian FM. This agreement marks
the foray of Big FM in the international arena and we are
extremely excited to join hands with Asian FM. Our effort
is to entertain the Indian diaspora, giving them the flavour
of radio back home. We will tweak the contents according to
the requirements of Asian FM."
Big
FM plans to have similar tie-ups in the Middle East, Singapore
and Africa as well.
The
content to be aired is a mix of Hindi and English and will
cover devotional, humour, romance, television, Bollywood and
health based genres, said Bhokare.
Asian
FM vice president Deepak Viswanath said, "When on the
lookout for partners in India, we found philosophical synergies
with Big FM, leading to a comfortable working relationship
between the two companies. As Asian FM expands its audience
base, we believe that the Big FM content will fit well within
our existing program line up. I am sure that some of our listeners,
which have not been to India for a while, will definitely
find the content very progressive with cutting edge humour."
