Select Technologies to market Tandberg's RDX Quikstor

MUMBAI: Network solutions provider Select Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the master distributorship for RDX QuikStor in India with Tandberg Data (Asia), a global supplier and manufacturer of backup and archiving solutions.

 

According to an official release, Tandberg Data's RDX QuikStor is an award-winning cartridge-based removable storage system that offers reliable and convenient storage for backup, archive, data interchange and disaster discovery.

With the new appointment Select Technologies, a division of WeP Peripherals will market Tandberg Data's RDX QuikStor to the small and medium business (SME) and small office home office (SOHO) markets in India through channel partners.

"Tandberg Data is an emergent brand in India and the agreement with Tandberg Data Asia adds further value to our current portfolio," said WeP Peripheralss Ltd MD and CEO Ram N Agarwa. "Customers are now seeking a single vendor to provide one-stop storage solutions. With this strategic tie-up, I am confident that we are able to reiterate our commitment to our customers by bringing them superior storage products and solutions, and also bring the sale of RDX QuikStor to greater heights in India."

 

Tandberg Data (Asia) MD Raymond Kang said, "We believe Select Technologies is the ideal master distributor for our RDX QuikStor as they have a reputable image in the IT distribution industry in India. RDX QuikStor is the only backup technology that offers the best of tape and hard disk at a small price. We are seeing a significant demand and sales growth of RDX QuikStor in India now and this MOU with Select Technologies came in timely to better address the demand as well as capturing more sales leads across the Indian cities."

Select Technologies business head Sunil Pillai added, "Entry-level drives comprising of the DAT, DDS & DLT technologies, cater to 45 per cent of today's Tape Drive solution market. Our enterprise customers are looking for a single
intelligently managed data storage solution and we anticipate that RDX QuikStor, with the simplicity of a tape based backup and the speed and flexibility of hard disk storage, will soon replace competing tape solutions in the market."

Tandberg RDX QuikStor cartridge capacity ranges in 40, 80, 120, and 160GB and future generations will follow the roadmap of 2.5 inch mobile hard disk drives. Select Technologies and Tandberg Data Asia will be working closely to kick start a series of launches and promotions for RDX QuikStor. Both companies are positive that the synergies of this partnership will yield beneficial results for each other.
