MUMBAI: Matrix Cellular (International) Services has announced launch of their student mobile connections. Indian students headed for the US and UK will be offered free handsets.

The telecom player has been supplying local US Sim cards to all US bound travelers for sometime but this year students buying the same before their departure from India, will have the option of choosing from two new Nokia handsets W 300i or Nokia 6126.

Matrix Cellular MD Gagan said, "This unique bundling offer from Matrix will help the students reduce their expenses on communications by as much as 20 per cent. Being an Indian company, we know how precious the dollar becomes for a student traveling abroad, especially US. This offer is our contribution towards saving that dollar."

Alongwith this offer, it is also offering a stipulated free talk time where students get a post paid number for usage in US.

Usually, getting a post paid number in US can get as expensive as $800, alongwith the added hassles of documentation and address verification process. Besides the US specific plan Matrix cellular is also offering special discounts for UK bound students.

According to an official release, Matrix Cellular International Services was the first to introduce foreign local connectivity in India for business travellers and students to communicate easily and cost-effectively when they travel abroad.

It has tied up with the networks across the world to offer country specific Sim cards.
