MUMBAI: Food service retailer McDonald's India (west and south) has joined hands with Sony Pictures to bring alive the adventures of the Penguin World's Surfing Championship with animated film Surf's Up.

As part of their association, all happy meals will carry one of ten different characters from the animated film, until 4 September.

In addition to the Surf's Up toy, every McDonald's happy meal will also have coupons that give consumers a chance to scratch and win assured prizes from Zapak. One can log on to http:/McDonalds.Zapak.com and enter the scratch code to claim downloadable games.

What's more, 12 lucky families will also get an opportunity to win an all expenses paid trip to Thailand. This offer will be valid at all McDonald's restaurants across India, states an official release.

Talking about the promotion, McDonald's India MD and JV partner Amit Jatia said, "We have a history of looking at unique ways to reach children, including in-store and online promotions. Our partnership with Surf's Up and Zapak gave us the opportunity to connect to consumers looking for fun and entertainment. We are confident that this will drive foot traffic to our outlets and also to the McDonald's-Zapak website."
