MUMBAI: Viacom's kids channel in India Nick is preparing to celebrate Independence Day with a back-to-back marathon of animated superhero Perman from 12 noon to 8 pm.

Besides the Perman marathon, Nick will also air vignettes of fun sessions with children talking about their India, their take on Independence Day and their heroes, informs an official release.

"Nick has always believed in putting a smile on kids' faces while entertaining and educating them. Perman is a show that reinforces values of friendship, togetherness and justice. Perman Marathon on Nick will ensure that our young ones spend this Independence Day not just getting entertained but also imbibing virtues of responsibilities that come with being a hero," says Nick India vice president and general manager Nina Elavia Jaipuria.

This animated series tells the story of a group of kids; two boys, a girl and a monkey who are elected by a mysterious masked man (named Super Perman) to be the protectors of their city. All the members of the group own a special Perman Kit - a helmet with ear-caps giving them a super strength, a cape giving them the power of flight, an emblem button with a "P" that they used as a communicator.
