Cartoon Network to air 'Bal Hanuman' on Independence Day

MUMBAI: Cartoon Network has acquired Astute Media Vision's 3-D animation movie Bal Hanuman which it will telecast on Independence Day at 1 pm. This is the 15th homegrown Indian animation film acquired by the network.

In an additional tribute, Cartoon Network Theatre under the aegis of 'Made in India' will showcase for the entire month some of the other Indian animation films acquired by Cartoon Network. The special line-up that will air every Sunday at 12 noon includes Pandavas - The Five Warriors on 12 August, Legend of Buddha on 19 August and Vikram Betal on 26 August, informs an official release.

Bal Hanuman traces lord Hanuman's mischievous childhood, highlighting his many adored and celebrated antics such as trying to swallow the sun and fighting with demons. The film has been previously aired on religious channel Zee Jagran in the month of July.

Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. VP advertising sales and networks, India and South Asia Monica Tata said, "Cartoon Network strongly believes in the potential of Indian animation and has always been at the forefront of providing them a national platform. Indian animations on the Network have consistently hit the ratings bulls' eye and continue to resonate with kids. This August, as India is marking its 60th year of Independence, Cartoon Network reiterates its promise of promoting home grown animations by acquiring its fifteenth Indian animation - Bal Hanuman."

The other animated films acquired bythe network include Sinbad - Beyond The Veil of Mists, Ramayana - The Legend of Prince Ram, The Adventures of Tenali Raman, Alibaba & Forty Thieves, The Adventures of Chhota Birbal, Jungle Tales, Akbar Birbal, Son of Alladin, Krishna: The Birth, Krishna: Makhan Chor, Krishna: in Vrindavan and Bal Hanuman.
