  Chennai-born journalist wins New York Emmy

MUMBAI:Chennai born Sukanya Krishnan, who works for CW11/WPIX, Tribune Broadcasting's New York CW affiliate, has won the New York Emmy Award for "On-Camera Talent: Program Host/Moderator".

 
     
  32-year-old Krishnan, who has won several awards for her television news coverage for mainstream media, was feted for the shows she hosted at WPIX-TV on 8 December, 2005 and 18 January & 6 March 6, 2006.

Krishnan's was one of the Emmy Awards handed out at the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' 50th Annual Award presentation recently in Manhattan at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The New York Emmy Awards, a chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, awards the "Emmy" for talent and ability in composition, creation, and performance of works which strive to improve the quality of television.
