MUMBAI: Radio
Mirchi 98.3 FM celebrated its fourth anniversary in Delhi
On Air, In Air - Hawa Mein. The celebrations started
at Ansal Plaza with the children of Smile foundation cutting
the Mirchi anniversary cake along with the Radio Mirchi RJ's.
The countdown then began for the new studio built in air from
where Radio Mirchi went live.
The
studio was built at a height of about 29 feet at Ansal Plaza
which is one of its kind. Celebrations were announced earlier
this week with an on air contest Baat Baat Mein Mirchi Birthday
Movie Tickets. Listeners called in between 8 am and 9 pm
on any of the shows and got movie tickets on a first cum first
basis, for a special screening of Tara Rum Pum at Satyam
on Sunday, in the company of all the Radio Mirchi RJ's. Listeners
will also be able to re-live some of the best interviews and
sparklers of the past one year on the radio station.
Celebrating
the festivities with his team members Radio Mirchi cluster
head Kanwarbir Singh said, "We are happy that we have
become a part of every Delhiites life. Radio Mirchi today
has won the hearts of over 40 lakh listeners in the city,
with its creativity, relevant programming and outstanding
jocks. We thank all our listeners for making us the undisputed
No. 1 in the city and we will live up to our promise of delivering
the best to our listeners."
ENIL launched its first radio station in the city of Indore
in October 2001 and by May 2003 ENIL launched six other stations.
At present Radio Mirchi is operational in 12 cities which
are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai , Indore, Ahmedabad, Pune,
Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and now Patna and Jalandhar.
Shortly, the station will be operational in 20 more cities
and in total have 32 radio stations in the country.
