NEW DELHI: A cable operator in West Delhi has been arrested
and his premises sealed following a raid on his premises which
revealed evidence of piracy of Zee Turner signals.
A case was filed by an independent raiding agency against the
operator and his premises were sealed. He was later produced
in court and sent to judicial custody.
According to a Zee Turner spokesperson, viewers in Paschim Vihar,
Meera Bagh and Bhera Enclave would not be able to receive 34
channels of Zee Turner bouquets which include Zee TV, Zee Cinema,
ETC Punjabi, Cartoon Network, Pogo, CNBC TV 18 amongst others.
The spokesperson said Multivision Network was authorized
to distribute the signals of the Services of the Zee Turner
but he had stopped making payments to the company since September
2006.
When repeated requests to clear the outstanding amounts failed
and even public notices and legal notices failed to make an
impact, Zee Turner deactivated its signals on Multivisions
network on December 5, 2006.
